  2. In America, the diet industry brings in over $60 billion a year. A large chunk of this is spent on quick-fix products that promise to help you lose weight without changing your lifestyle in any meaningful way. The rest are for "lifestyle change" diets that require you to radically alter your habits and cut out entire food groups. But is it all hype? Does anyone actually have a diet that works? And how much do we really know about what works when it comes to losing weight and keeping it off? We've got three diet tips guaranteed to work, based on current science!

  14. The short answer is YES. But, we all know the reality of job hunting, looking for a job is easy, but looking for the RIGHT job is not a walk in the park, specially when your armed with an online degree, competing against other applicants who actually got a real degree from a real school. Online degrees are real, but if you put yourself in the HR's position, would you really risk hiring someone with an online degree (who studied for a few months) versus someone who studied for a longer period, physically going to a university, and learning the craft daily?

  23. A lot of diet tips out there are not based on current science. There are, however, some diet tips that will work for you. Eat more vegetables Eat less red meat Eat less sugar Eat less processed food If you’re struggling with your weight, you probably know a number of things are working against you. You aren’t exercising enough, you’re eating too many packaged, processed foods, you’re eating too much sugar, and you’re eating too much fat. One of the most effective tricks that weight loss gurus often used to imply that something is working against you is to suggest that you should cut back on this or that food group. But this advice is often harmful for several reasons.

  25. According to one coffee legend, ancestors of today's Oromo people in a region of Kaffa in Ethiopia were the first to recognize the energizing effect of the coffee plant. However, no direct evidence that has been found earlier than the 15th century indicating who among the African populations used it as a stimulant, or where coffee was first cultivated. The story of Kaldi, the 9th-century Ethiopian goatherd who discovered coffee when he noticed how excited his goats became after eating the beans from a coffee plant, did not appear in writing until 1671 and is probably apocryphal. Another legend attributes the discovery of coffee to a Sheikh Omar. According to an old chronicle (preserved in the Abd-Al-Kadir manuscript), Omar, who was known for his ability to cure the sick through prayer, was once exiled from Mocha in Yemen to a desert cave near Ousab (modern-day Wusab, about 90 kilometres (56 mi) east of Zabid). Starving, Omar chewed berries from nearby shrubbery but found them to be too bitter. He tried roasting the seeds to improve the flavor, but they became hard. He then tried boiling them to soften the seed, which resulted in a fragrant brown liquid. Upon drinking the liquid Omar was revitalized and sustained for days. As stories of this "miracle drug" reached Mocha, Omar was asked to return and was made a saint.

  27. Here's the explanation from the United States of America Federal Trade Commission. According tho the FTC, a reverse mortgage is... If you’re 62 or older – and want money to pay off your mortgage, supplement your income, or pay for healthcare expenses – you may consider a reverse mortgage. It allows you to convert part of the equity in your home into cash without having to sell your home or pay additional monthly bills. But take your time: a reverse mortgage can be complicated and might not be right for you. A reverse mortgage can use up the equity in your home, which means fewer assets for you and your heirs. If you do decide to look for one, review the different types of reverse mortgages, and comparison shop before you decide on a particular company.

  36. Here's my fave, the Hyundai Palisade The Hyundai Palisade is a mid-size crossover SUV manufactured by Hyundai Motor Company since late 2018. It debuted at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show on November 28, 2018. It replaces the Maxcruz (also known as Santa Fe XL outside of South Korea) as the flagship SUV under the Hyundai brand. The Palisade also becomes the largest vehicle in Hyundai's fleet measuring in at 196.1 inches long with a wheelbase of 114.2 inches. Like its predecessor, the Palisade features three rows of seating, with seating for up to eight passengers when equipped with a second-row bench seat. The Palisade is Hyundai's largest vehicle to date, and has 21 cu ft (595 L) of cargo space behind the third row and 87 cu ft (2,464 L) with both rows folded down. According to Hyundai, the name Palisade "references a series of coastal cliffs", the neighborhood of Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles, California is used as a reference for the naming of the car.

  39. It’s not that cutting things out will magically make you lose weight, it’s that you’ll be eating less overall. The bottom line is this — cutting something out of your diet does not increase your intake. There’s nothing magical about vegetables or fruits that are calorie-free. You can still eat more of them! The foods we eat, especially vegetables and fruits, have billions of chemical compounds. A lot of people get away with eating virtually none of these chemicals, but if you do eat more of them, you could potentially be putting your health at risk. For example, a lot of synthetic chemicals that are in common foods are linked to higher rates of cancer and neurological disorders.

  40. Diet soft drinks actually contain a ton of sugar. So are chocolates, sodas, and other packaged foods. When you cut these items out, you’re going to feel less hungry. But without also cutting in things like organic meat and pasture-raised eggs, you won’t be getting a whole lot of nutrition in those foods, which will not help you lose weight. And the fact that sugar contributes to so many diseases doesn’t mean you should eliminate it from your diet.

  42. Online degrees teach higher level thinking, critical thinking, and problem solving skills that employers value Online degrees are going to be the way of the future. According to a recent study, the number of online learners in the U.S. is expected to increase by 45% by 2020, which means more and more people will be getting their education online. Online degrees teach higher level thinking, critical thinking, and problem solving skills that employers value. If you go to school, you want to see results. A degree that you don’t get or don’t see the results from ultimately leads to a career that is not really a career, is not going to have the same meaning for you. Education should be something that provides you with skills that you can apply in any field or career that you think you could benefit from. The goal shouldn’t be to create something from your degree that’s going to amount to something. The goal should be to take those skills that you’ve learned and apply them to a new skill or project that you’ve started. To find the best online programs for your major, look for programs with: You don’t need to spend thousands of dollars or sign up for a program that will take forever to pay off. Online degree programs can analyze your high school transcripts, your GPAs, and help you reach an acceptance rate of about 70%. Ultimately, it comes down to your personal choice and investment in the right online degree. You can invest a lot of money and time into a degree that may not result in a great job. That’s not the point of going to school. Your degree can set you up for the future, provided that it is built with the skills, knowledge, and abilities you’ve learned.

  43. You can get a job with an online degree if you have the right education Education is one of the most important aspects in career development. When you have the right education and the right skills, you can get a job with an online degree. A lot of people assume that online degrees aren’t as credible as traditional degrees but that’s actually not true.Since I started working in the virtual classroom industry, I’ve learned a lot about how to make online learning work for people. Just because someone has an online degree, that doesn't mean they’re good at teaching. You need to develop an online reputation first before you can even consider teaching online. An online reputation gives you the opportunity to create your teaching portfolio before you start teaching. So, before you can pick up a teaching position, you need to first start building up an online teaching portfolio. You’re going to need to create lesson plans, assignments, evaluations, reports, and one or two performance reviews before you can even consider teaching. Video tutorials can provide flexibility but they are by no means a substitute for good old PowerPoint. There are so many online textbooks, video blogs, online programs, podcasts, and other educational resources available today. If someone has an online certificate in their field, it’s unlikely that they have an online teaching experience. There are basic requirements, such as teaching experience in an education program or classroom experience, but unless those are in your direct field of expertise, you should steer clear of certificate mills. Sure, people have done bad things in the past, but online experience alone is not a guarantee against mistreatment and unethical practices. If you find online education is the right option for you, by all means, consider creating a teaching portfolio to highlight your online teaching experience. Many employers are willing to look past a poorly developed online teaching portfolio if you have a good portfolio of work.
